Chrysler Volvo outdrive

Jim Azevedo	R: Chrysler Penta Commando 1967-1970. (PZ NR (B) 212437 (G). I would like to know how you separate the universal joint on a Chrysler Volvo outdrive and if both ends of the universal are on a spleen? And if so, is there a locking pin that keeps them from separating? For I have put 3000lbs of pull and it will not separate from either shaft. Any info or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.	2002-11-04
f_inscreenname	Are you talking about the universals in the out drive? If so there is a 3/4 moon clip on the inside of the uni that holds the cap on. Once you slide the clip out the cap may need a little heat before it will slide IN toward the center of the uni joint. This past spring I rebuilt a 360 Chrysler with a Volvo 270 out drive from the pulleys to the prop. Just brimming with info and have been waiting to share (not many people have that set up, so there isn't too many questions except from me). Hope it helps.	2002-11-04
