Continuing saga water in lower unit

sea wolf 3.0 1987 OMC Cobra. changed seals on prop shaft & water pump shaft about a month ago. i'm still getting water in drive. what I don't understand is the fact that I changed all the seals in this unit about 3 yrs. ago. now i'm looking at another tear down. the oil seems do be coming from the lower half as I can see it float to the surface when the drive is tilted up. has anyone got a Cobra that had problems like this? i'm considering doing a vacuum/pressure test myself. I know i'll need a tester. is this a high ticket item to purchase? if it is I may bring it to a dealer or just tear it down & start from stratch again. advice anyone? 2002-08-17
nightride Hi seawolf I've got a Cobra I was getting the same thing found out to late/ on top of the out drive theres a cover take the cover off theres a gasket right there /mind was worn and salt water tore up the gears and water leaks though there down to the drive 2002-08-17
sea wolf Thanx nightride. got that 1 covered. 2002-08-18
denniz Why don't you take it and get it pressure tested? That will tell you where its leaking. 2002-08-22
hondon Take it to the shop and give them one half hour to remove the gearcase, drain the gearoil,pressure/vac it ,and tell you where your leak is or if you have more than one. 2002-08-23
