OMC lower unit gear

almighty Well I have a Searay which was originally bought in california the problem I'm having is I can't get it to plane in utah on a lake that's about 7200 feet above sea level what I need to know is would there be a different set of gears that would be in the lower unit if the boat was set up for utah instead of california... um here is some additional information
boat engine is a 350 chev
outdrive is omc
we have already tried all the different prop recomendations but I think this is a lower gear problem. if anyone can offer any help in this matter please tell me where I can get the proper lower gear a model number or part number would be very helpful
thank you
I have also heard that you can adjust the carborator jets too.... but I don't know
thank you once again

sea wolf The gear setup would be the same. however we need more info such as what year is boat, what drive etc. when was the last time the engine had a tune up? there's a lot of different reasons why it won't plane. 2002-07-25
osdustin Check with Searay dealer in the area for some kind of higher altitude running spec. if you were runnuing at sea level before and went to 7200 feet the is very thin and there is less oxygen content. two strokes require a smaller jetting to make up for this loss of power. good luck.
